We’ve done it! We are now expanding! Since October the holiday lets company has managed to exceed our first goal of having 100 people on the website and is looking at new ventures. The next part of our journey takes us to Devon where there are over 1000 holiday homes that we could offer our exclusive service to. Self catering holiday homes, B&B’s, Caravans and Cottage holiday homes are the key focus for our business.

Devon, which is home to two National Parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor has over 16 Holiday Resorts that just house Self catering holiday homes such as holiday chalets, caravans and tent pitches attract thousands of tourists every single year. This doesn’t include the privately owned self catering holiday homes, cottage holidays homes and B&B’s in the area! Tourism is one of Devon’s leading industries. Devon counties strong heritage and natural environment provides variety for a wide range of people.

Statistics have shown that over the last 5 years, there has been a gradual decrease in the amount of people going for all inclusive holiday packages. Instead there was an increase in the amount of families and couples going on the “Do it yourself” holiday. Self catering holiday homes have become increasingly more popular; and on average they are a lot more affordable and generally provide more value for money. Especially in the present economic climate the U.K is in, money is tight and every penny should count. However, growing popularity shows that saving some pennies and going to a Self catering Holiday Home doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on having an amazing holiday with your partner, friends or the kids. Sometimes it works out better because you are not held back by the restraints of, for example, a hotel restaurant that only serves breakfast 6-9am. Leaving you the option of, missing out on a well-deserved lie in, or missing out on breakfast!

Obviously there are luxuries that all-inclusive holidays do offer, like room service, drinks on tap, and all you can eat. But as far as entertainment goes, Holiday parks are so competitive in terms of activities and amusements for the family, restaurants on site, entertainment in the evenings. On the spot amenities! And now a lot of Parks offer luxury facilities like swimming pool golf course and health spa options! So Don’t worry about saving some money for your holidays this year as you definitely won’t be cutting yourself short!

The Holiday Lets Company’s next step is to have over 150 holiday homes from the Devon area live on the website. Once this is achieved we will set our sights on the rest of the southwest, like Dorset and Wales. From there we will expand to the rest of the U.K and beyond! Here’s to the next step!!

Cornish Holiday destinations like Watergate Bay, Luxulyan and St Michael’s Point, are becoming more and more popular every year with young couples seeking a bit of alone time.

Every holiday is different. Whether you and your partner are going away for a luxurious weekend together or if you are a family heading for a Cornish holiday of fun filled adventures; there is nothing better, and it is always welcoming and friendly after the usual 6 hour drive down where the kids have been moaning all the way down and you have gotten lost god knows how many times, to arrive to a little something extra at your Cornish holiday destination. It is generally expected, and classed as standard with most self-catering holiday homes, that certain utilities are available and set up ready for your arrival.

Years ago a working television was classed as an added extra in any self-catering holiday home; now it almost expected that having a flat screen LCD television with free view is to be included as standard. But with the growing pace in technology that sort of adjustment has to be adhered to. I am talking about the little things. The little added extras; the stuff that will make your Cornish holiday that bit more special. What would be better when you arrive in a new area of the world, like when taking that first Cornish Holiday, than having a little book full of instructions and information about the local area and attractions? Maybe to find that whilst you were out for the day exploring, that someone special had come in and remade all the beds and tidied up a bit for you. At particular times of year like Easter and Christmas wouldn’t it be lovely to have a present or Easter egg each, waiting for you when you wake up in the morning.

From the experience of going on plenty of self-catering holidays, it is lovely and comforting to have a guide to the local surroundings. Almost like a good food guide, it tells you all about the best shopping centres; all the best places to dine at a good price and, in Cornish Holidays in particular, where the closest and most luxurious beaches are! A really nice touch is to have welcome pack on arrival because it makes you feel at home and welcome and like the owners of the property really want you to enjoy your stay.

All these added extras obviously do cost money for the holiday home owner, but if you are a holiday home owner, whether it is a caravan or cottage holiday home that you own, you want to make sure that you are providing your visitors will all the little extras that are important because those little things will be the reasons they come back again.

While you’re on your Cornish Holiday, take a moment, or a whole day,  to appreciate the more historical monuments of Cornish history and visit St. Micheal’s Mount. This amazing castle, set on the top of a very small island, is situated just off the shores of the local fishing town and port of Penzance. Spend a day away from you Self-catering Cottage Holiday and explore this beautiful island with all its historic grounds and mythical presence. Boat hop across the causeway where legend has it a giant used to walk! There is plenty to do with all the family to get everyone out of the self-catering holiday home for the day.

You can go on a tour of the beautiful and historical insides of the castle, which proudly sits on Mounts Bay Island. Other than that you go for an adventure into your greener roots and take a long relaxing stroll through the enchanting gardens of the castle; that are home to some truly extraordinary plant life! If that doesn’t float your boat, and to honest boats aren’t your thing, you can always make your way across the causeway on foot; as long as the tides are right of course. Once you get across to the castle you recuperate your energy and refresh at the lovely local fish restaurant, the “Sail Loft” that is opened at the same times as the castle and is placed right next to it.

New for 2012 is the Bronze Hoard Exhibition where evidence of life over 3 million years old was found on the mount back in 2009 and now it sits proudly inside the castle on display for public viewing. Every Cornish Holiday should be about exploring the historical landmarks that Cornwall has to offer; the perfect destination to is this castle because it has a little something for everyone.
